This summer, Art Box Experience invites families to a series of sensory workshops accompanying the immersive exhibition “Retro Warsaw.” These unique events combine an immersive exhibition tour with creative art activities, allowing children and their parents or guardians to discover pre-war Warsaw through all their senses.
History is best remembered when it can be experienced firsthand. That’s why we have created a series of family sensory workshops that combine an inspiring exhibition visit with hands-on creative activities.
The experience begins with a guided visit to the exhibition, where participants explore pre-war Warsaw—its iconic landmarks, architecture, residents, and the unique atmosphere of the city nearly 100 years ago. Afterwards, they move to the art studio, where the exhibition becomes a source of inspiration for creating their own original artworks.
During the workshop, children will create a multisensory artwork inspired by historic Warsaw using materials with a variety of textures, colours, and surfaces. They will also design their own scrapbook filled with archival photographs, illustrations, and decorative elements, creating a unique keepsake from their journey into the city’s past.
The workshops encourage imagination, creativity, fine motor skills, and artistic expression while inspiring families to discover history together. Each child will take home two handmade souvenirs, and after the workshop, participants are invited to revisit the exhibition and experience it from a completely new perspective.
This is an ideal activity for families looking to combine meaningful learning with a fun, creative, and engaging experience.
