The immersive exhibition “Romantic Chopin” has won the People’s Voice Award at the 30th Annual Webby Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious honors for digital projects, described by The New York Times as the “Internet’s highest honor.”
The project received the award in the Best Immersive Experience (Apps, Immersive & Software) category, earning the highest number of public votes and surpassing international productions, including Metallica’s immersive concert experience for Apple Vision Pro and “Dexter: Resurrection – Prater’s Vault.”
Presented by the public, the award highlights the growing importance of immersive storytelling as a powerful medium for experiencing culture and the arts. “Romantic Chopin” was recognized for its innovative combination of Frédéric Chopin’s music, visual storytelling, and cutting-edge technology, offering audiences a compelling new way to experience the composer’s life and legacy.
Created by Art Box Experience in collaboration with the The Fryderyk Chopin Institute, the exhibition takes visitors through eight thematic spaces exploring Chopin’s life and work-from Żelazowa Wola and Warsaw to Vienna and Paris. The experience combines traditional artistic techniques with contemporary animation, interactive installations, and VR technology.
An integral part of the exhibition is a VR experience developed by Platige Image using Unreal Engine. The studio created a poetic, multi-layered environment that seamlessly blends image and music, expanding the exhibition’s narrative through an additional immersive dimension.
The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), an international body of experts representing organizations such as OpenAI, YouTube, TikTok, and Meta. This year’s competition attracted more than 13,000 entries from over 70 countries.
A second Art Box Experience project, “Save the Planet,” also competed in this year’s Webby Awards and finished second in its category, behind only NASA’s “Hearing Hubble.”
“Romantic Chopin” is currently on display in Poznań at the Poznań International Fair, while Art Box Experience continues to expand its international distribution. Following the exhibition’s success in Warsaw and Poznań, advanced discussions are underway regarding future presentations in other European cities, including Paris, as well as across Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and China.
The official Webby Awards ceremony will take place on 11 May 2026 in New York City. One of the event’s most iconic traditions is the famous five-word acceptance speech, which has become part of internet culture. In the coming weeks, Art Box Experience will invite its community to help create its own five-word speech-details will be shared on the company’s social media channels.
Tickets for the “Romantic Chopin” exhibition in Poznań are available online.
