‘Alfons Mucha – The Magic of Art Nouveau’ was an opportunity to immerse oneself in the extraordinary aesthetics of the Belle Époque – an era full of elegance, subtlety and symbolism. Mucha’s characteristic compositions, depicting stunning women surrounded by floral ornaments and undulating lines, came to life in a modern, multisensory form.
The exhibition was prepared by Grand Palais Immersif – one of the most innovative cultural institutions in France – in collaboration with the Mucha Foundation. Thanks to the use of advanced audiovisual, interactive and scent technologies, visitors not only saw but also felt the spirit of those times. A unique element of the exhibition was the aroma inspired by Jacques Guerlain’s 1900 perfume, created for Sarah Bernhardt – one of Mucha’s muses.
Visitors could admire both a digital version of the artist’s most famous posters and lesser-known works – from paintings and graphics to architectural designs and jewellery. The whole experience was complemented by an original soundtrack, developed by Studio Radio France, combining music from the era with modern arrangements.
Thanks to its immersive nature, the Art Box Experience exhibition transported guests into the world of Alfons Mucha, allowing them to feel the magic of Art Nouveau and discover the enormous influence the artist had on contemporary culture and art.
