The lesson is devoted to understanding Fryderyk Chopin’s place in the Romantic era and the role of music as an expression of emotions – both personal and social. Students will learn about the characteristics of Romantic music through the example of Chopin’s work and consider how his compositions became a manifesto of feelings, longing for his homeland, and the desire for freedom. They will also look at the era in which the composer worked, as well as his relationships with other prominent figures of Romanticism, including Adam Mickiewicz and Cyprian Kamil Norwid. The lesson combines musical analysis with historical, cultural, and literary context, showing how Romantic values manifested themselves in musical art.
