A multisensory journey through six themed spaces brought visitors closer to key moments in the artist’s life: childhood, accident, love, ideology, suffering and spirituality. Instead of a traditional presentation of paintings, the exhibition focused on context and symbolism, guiding viewers through layers of her biography and inner world.
Through a combination of 360° projections, original photographs, animations, documentary films and Mexican music, viewers could feel how Frida’s work was inextricably linked to her everyday experience, physical pain, love for Mexico and struggle for identity.
The exhibition attracted enormous interest and was not only a moving lesson in biography, but also a unique example of how art can be presented in a modern, engaging form.
