From 13 February, at Art Box Experience in Warsaw’s Fabryka Norblina, the exhibition “Leonardo versus Michelangelo. The Duel of Renaissance Geniuses” will be presented in Poland for the first time. The exhibition was created by the renowned studio Layers of Reality, the creators of some of the most acclaimed immersive productions presented in over 50 cities worldwide.
Following its success at IDEAL Barcelona, the project comes to Warsaw. It is the largest and most innovative production in the history of Layers of Reality, combining advanced technology with historical accuracy.
The exhibition is based on a real event from 1503, the artistic confrontation at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio, where both masters were commissioned to create competing murals. The exhibition allows visitors to experience this rivalry again and invites them to actively participate in a story whose ending depends on their choice.
Across eight rooms and 800 m2, visitors immerse themselves in the world of the Renaissance through:
- large-scale projections and a 2D and 3D immersive film presenting the works of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo,
- a 360-degree virtual reality experience transporting visitors to 16th-century Florence and the studios of both artists,
- interactive installations inspired by Renaissance artistic studies,
- a final vote in which each visitor chooses one side.
This is an exhibition about rivalry, genius and choice, where art history combined with modern technology turns the viewer into a participant in the duel.
Enter. Watch. Decide.
